Hurricane Season 2020: Brief Overview & What to Expect

Wow. What a crazy year it has been so far in 2020. I know many of you probably don't want to even think about natural disasters with the way this year has been going, but as we barrel into June and the summer months, it's inevitable.  Being South Carolina's most trusted roofing company since 1950, we wanted to do a little research and dive into what the experts are saying so you and your roof can know what to expect over the next several months. How Many Hurricanes? In years past, most hurricane seasons included an average of 12 major storms. However, over the last 4 years, this number has surpassed the 12 mark so they are predicting 13-19 named storms for 2020. Based on the NOAA's website , predictions include 6 to 10 of these could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including 3-6 major hurricanes (winds of 111 mph or greater).
